So how did it all start? In a nutshell, I got pregnant and like most soon to be moms, I got sick. Morning sick that is. But to be more accurate it was actually all day sick as a dog.
As a sometimes graphic designer and freelance scenic designer, my creativity was in hyper drive and I needed an outlet. Well, okay, if I want to be completely honest, I needed Distraction, I needed ANY distraction from the general all-encompassing discomfort every day brought.
And did I mention I was impatient?
After falling in love and marrying the boy I sat next to in second grade, I was ready for the next phase...a baby! Though, this was an endeavor I had waited a long time to be ready for and a long time to finally have growing inside me, I had no idea how long only 9 months can seem when one is uncomfortable and waiting for the best present on the entire earth to show his face.
So, being a designer with a love of organization, I set about with some preparation. Everyone says it's impossible to prepare for motherhood. And that is very true. However, I was pretty confident that once the baby arrived I would definitely have to dress him now and then. So I focused on preparing what made sense. Clothing.
Before I knew it, I was preparing enough clothing for triplets (any distraction is good distraction). And my ideas were growing as fast as my belly. My little chick has been here for only a few months now, and yet I can already (although reluctantly) see him gearing up to fly.
Meggie.liz began as a way for me to distract myself but my hope is that it will offer you something for your little chicks from the time they hatch until the time they take their first test flight, taking your heart with them.
