cute as a button and goldfish

Over the past few weeks I've been working on some new ideas. I want to come up with some unisex and girly designs that fit my style. I have polka-dot flowers and pink guitars on the way, but here's a sneak peak at two unisex designs I worked on yesterday:

my card

My business cards arrived yesterday from Overnight Prints...

freezer paper

Without revealing ALL my secrets...just most of them...this is how I make the onesies that look like they are silk screened. Why reveal my secret? Well, because I want you to see that each and every onesie I make is made with care, by hand, by ME.

color and quality

I love designing with color, and so I began searching for the BEST colored onesie I could find. I'm happy to say that I have found what I was looking for at Cottonseed Clothing. Cottonseed makes a high quality onesie in 24 wonderful colors.

A little about Cottonseed:

– They chose a super fine, extra soft 40/single ring spun 100% cotton interlock. (most major retailers use 20-30/single)

– They exceed common construction standards to make onesies extra durable.

– Their onesies are machine washable, color fast and pre-shrunk.

– Their onesies snaps in the front and has a lap-over neck for easy dressing.

"On my soapbox"

I like things clean. So every onesie and any fabric I use are washed in Charlie's Soap.

Charlie's Soap is wonderful! It contains no dyes, phosphates, UV brighteners or perfumes! It's Hypoallergenic, so it's perfect for those who have sensitive skin (babies). It does not fade colors. AND it is non-toxic and completely biodegradable.

I love this soap so much...I use it for all my family's laundry.

and so it begins...

Welcome.

I created this blog in order to post photos of my meggie.liz designs–I'm currently designing onesies that I will be sold on Etsy. My Etsy shop is empty at the moment, but check back soon. I have many designs in the works.

I'd also love to use this blog as a dialogue with YOU, my reader, as I explore designing for children. Your feedback will be helpful to me.

I design on onesies using both a freezer paper technique (fabric paint) and fabric applique (stitched fabric). AND I just started experimenting with using both techniques in one design.
